Two Telegram AI bots can both say “free” and offer very different experiences.
One might give you a few messages every day. Another might give you a small starting balance that does not refill. A third might let you chat for free but reserve better models or background tasks for a paid plan.
The easiest way to compare them is to stop asking which bot has the longest feature list and ask what your usual workflows would cost. That means checking the free limit, the model and features available within it, and what happens when you reach it.
First, decide what you need the AI bot to do
A few quick questions each week are different from daily writing, image generation or an agent that follows up on tasks across your apps.
- If you mostly want answers in a private chat, a basic chatbot may be enough.
- If you want a bot to remember context, work in groups or take actions in other tools, compare it with other personal agents rather than with a text-only bot.
Estimate a normal week: how many text requests, voice messages, images and group interactions would you make? Include tasks you would actually repeat, not just the impressive demo you tried once.
That small estimate makes free-tier limits much easier to judge.

Their free offers therefore cannot be judged by message count alone.
Five things to compare in free telegram AI bots

Model access deserves its own test. Ask the bot which model answered, look for a model selector or usage screen, and check the plan description.
If the provider does not disclose the model clearly, judge the results you get rather than assuming a familiar model name in its advertising applies to the free tier.
Work out the cost of your own month
Suppose you send 12 text requests and generate two images each week. That is roughly 48 text requests and eight images in four weeks. Write those numbers beside each bot’s current limits. A five-message-per-day allowance may easily cover the text, while a small, one-time starter balance may not. If images use credits, calculate the image cost separately.
Then check the first paid plan that would cover both parts of your routine.
- Does it include the model you want? Do unused credits carry over?
- Can you buy extra credits without a subscription?
- Are you paying monthly, through Telegram Stars, or both?
A cheaper headline price may be worse value if the feature you need sits on a higher tier.
This calculation is intentionally simple. It avoids comparing “credits” across bots as though they were the same currency; each provider defines its own costs.
Test two or three bots before upgrading
Give each candidate the same three ordinary tasks: one factual question, one writing or summarizing request, and one task specific to your needs, such as a voice note or image.
Record whether the answer was useful, how long it took, which model or feature was available, and whether the bot clearly showed your remaining allowance.
Also try the end of the free tier. Does the bot stop, offer a lower-tier model, wait for a reset or push you to pay? That experience tells you more about the real plan than a feature list does.

Does “unlimited” include the best AI model?
Not necessarily. It may apply only to selected models or features. Check the specific plan terms and what happens when you use a more expensive model.
Are Telegram Stars the same as a monthly subscription?
No. Stars are a way to pay inside Telegram; a bot can use them for a subscription or another purchase. Read what the purchase provides and whether it renews.
When is a paid plan worth it?
When you regularly hit a limit that interrupts a task you value, and the paid plan clearly covers that task at a price you are comfortable with. Test the free version first and compare the total cost of your normal month, not just the entry price.
